I'm not in a hurry to take a timeout at any cost when the site allows it, but if the opponent is late for 1,,, 2 days, I'll take it to tidy up my game list,,, I think it's not nice to have new games that have just been opened be buried lightly,,
That's pretty much what I do here. I'll generally cut them some slack if they're only late by a day or two. Things like family emergencies happen. Of course, you can request a "vacation" or other time off. I play on a lot of web sites that automatically close out any games that have timed out. That's another way of doing it.
I agree with you, but there are 3....4 old faggots here who literally sleep on the computer to specifically wait for a time out, sending nice interesting games to the trash can,,, which actually annoys me the most,,, what are you in a hurry for when you only earn the hatred of your opponents for a virtual prize with some medal.
I support automatic (system-generated) time-outs as the appropriate and fairest treatment. I particularly recall a comment on chess world from a woman who had accepted some games with a 30-day time limit. She mentioned that she had never imagined that many of her opponents in such games would routinely post their moves on the 30th day -- even if they had only one move. Why is it unsportsmanlike to claim a timeout but not unsportsmanlike to routinely delay play or to continue playing clearly lost games for months?
on this site the games are up to 7 days maximum, I think it's well done, but PETER IS VERY RIGHT, ABOUT A FEW STUPID PLAYERS HERE WHO IRRITATE THE OTHERS,,, one of them is AGELING who hasn't been in the game for 20 days, I told him that just as he was in a hurry for a time out, he should also hurry to the cemetery and take a time out from Saint Patrick and he clearly heard me well
