Development of the next major version of ChessConquest (version 3) is progressing well and on schedule.

We have completed development and testing of the new move engine for classic chess. This engine is an upgrade to the existing one and performs better with high player load and real-time games.

Similarly we have also completed the development and testing of the Chess 960 move engine.

Ketchuplover, we will definitely launch a big marketing campaign to invite back previous players as soon as the new site is launched.

We are also planning a few things to recruit new players.

Hello Tink2020,

ChessConquest version 3 will introduce the Chess960 variation, and we will also switch from the knock-out tournament format, to the swiss tournament format. This is a much more enjoyable format, and should also take much less time to complete.

We also did a redesign of the user interface, that will make it much easier to navigate the site.

We will make sure to post updates as we continue development. Currently there is no ETA.

We made the difficult but important decision to switch tech stacks midway with development. This is unfortunately delaying our development efforts. After careful consideration we do however believe that switching to a more streamlined teach stack will allow us to eventually win back lost time, and be in a better position to support ChessConquest development going forward.

Our plan is to launch a “come back” campaign for former members as soon as the new website is released.

Also have a few other ideas we plan to run with to recruit new members.

First just need to focus our efforts on delivering v3.
