I was wondering if anyone else also finds the puzzles on the front page useful? I've been working through a few of them each day, and it has definitely helped me to improve my chess game.

Yes, lichess.org is a brilliant website. They did a real good job.

The puzzles on the front page are nice. I believe with time and further improvements, the puzzle bank here will become big, and probably have a separate section too.
Sites like Lichess and Chesstempo are doing well with puzzles, though I play bullet chess more on those, but such heights don't come over night, little by little CC will get there too.

Sounds like a good idea.

Such a feature would however take a bit more time to implement so I've created a development ticket for this request. There are some other pressing features, like Round Robin tournaments that I would like to attend to.

How many different puzzles are there? I've seen the Mate in 3 puzzle repeated already

Currently there are about 840 puzzles in total, split equally between 1-move, 2-move and 3-move puzzle types.

We add 6 new puzzles every.

Each time the front page loads, it picks 3 puzzles randomly, one of each type, so it is very possible that there might be repeats. I will come back to this at some point to see if we cannot implement a better flow for puzzle selection.
